A long time ago I created an alternative account which I never really used and I tried to terminate by contacting Live Support. When I created the account I never added billing/cardinformation. So nothing registered on that front. Much to my surprise Live Support needed that info I clearly do not have. I have no cards linked to my account.....

"There is card information on the account, therefore you will need to confirm all the information prior to closing the account."

"Nope there is not"

"What is the first and last name on the account, billing zip/postal code, and the last 4 digits of any card used on your account?"

"There is no billing zip/postac code involved let alone digits....."

Whatever happened to giving username + email and be done with it?

If there is nothing linked to the account WTF difference does it make.. Just don't use it, nothing to tie it back to you.. BTW if you for real don't wanna use it just go to settings and change password and enter random letters and numbers and forget them when you've changed it...

The difference from before is that you could easily terminate your account when it's not linked to any payment devices/cards etc. Meaning that Basic users only had to provide information that was needed when creating the BASIC account. But now it does not matter what type of user you are. You need to provide cardinfo despite the type of account. And why tf shouldn't I be able to terminate it. If I'm not using something anymore I throw it away, it's not a matter of being linked/tied to anything for that matter. Changing shit to my account doesn't make it go away.
